Walker River Resort of Nevada, Inc. owns and operates the Walker River Resort in beautiful Smith Valley. Founded in 1983, the Resort now comprises a lush oasis surrounded by Bureau of Land Management (BLM). With several hundred planted trees and numerous lawns, guests of the Resort enjoy the serenity and beauty of this unique location above the West Walker River. Each year, visitors include international guests from as far away as England, France and the Netherlands. Local guests from the Northern Nevada region enjoy an oasis of outdoor fun and recreation. Many of the Resort guests arrive in their RV’s or they stay in the deluxe cottages overlooking the River. Local guests and distant travelers are always welcome at the western-style Walker River Resort.
Guests of all ages can delight in poolside fun, relaxation in the hot tub, friendly potlucks in the full service lounge, play for a jackpot in the slot machines, participate in a game of horseshoes, play 9 holes on the “Anthill Desert Golf Course” or fly fish in the River. You may even float the River, enjoy a group campfire at your RV site or Cottage and feel refreshed when you depart. Everyone enjoys the large oasis of outdoor fun and recreation.
Sportsmen and women can shoot clay targets at the Resort’s 25 station Sporting Clays Shooting Courses or at the Five Stand Shooting Area. Both the White and the Green courses are gaining recognition as one of Western Nevada’s premier shooting courses. The Five Stand is really something outstanding. There are 14 automatic clay throwers surrounding the Five Shooting cages. You can throw 100’s of unique targets for a fun morning or afternoon of shooting!
